Frear Park Ice Rink
Frear Park boasts a hockey rink which is used by Troy Albany Youth Hockey Association (TAYHA) and also offers public skating. The rink opened in 1974 and was the first enclosed ice rink in the area. In 1979, improvements were made by adding a lobby and extra locker rooms amongst other things. Players ranging from age 6-18

I had such a fantastic time visiting the local ice skating rink! The atmosphere was so lively, and the staff was incredibly friendly, helping everyone feel welcome. The ice was well-maintained and made for a smooth skating experience, which is a huge plus. As a beginner, I appreciated that they had rental skates available, and they were in great condition. I did notice that it got a bit crowded during peak hours, which made it challenging to skate freely at times. However, the overall experience was enjoyable, and I can’t wait to go back with friends next weekend. It’s the perfect spot to unwind and have fun, and I would highly recommend it to anyone looking to enjoy some time on the ice!

I had an awesome experience at this local skating rink! I went with a group of friends, and we spent hours just enjoying the ice. The atmosphere was super fun; everyone seemed to be in high spirits, and it made for a great evening. The layout of the rink allowed for both casual skating and some more serious practice for the advanced skaters, which I thought was great. My only feedback would be that the snack bar could have a few more options—maybe some hot chocolate would have been nice on a chilly night. But overall, we loved our time here and can’t wait to go back. It’s nice to have a place like this to unwind and enjoy some leisure time!

This ice skating rink is an absolute must-visit! I went during a weekday afternoon, so it wasn’t too crowded, which made it perfect for me as a novice. The staff were really patient and offered some great tips on how to improve my skating. The ice was well-maintained, and I loved the lively atmosphere created by the music. I did notice a couple of rough patches on the ice, which made it a bit tricky at times, but it didn’t take away from the fun. I particularly loved the community feel of the place; there were families and friends all enjoying themselves, and it felt safe and welcoming. I’ll definitely be returning soon, and I'm excited to bring more friends along next time. Highly recommend for anyone looking to have a fun, active day out!

What a gem of a place! I took my family here for a weekend skating outing, and we had such a great time! The rink was spacious, and it felt like we had plenty of room to skate. The staff were super friendly and attentive, always making sure everyone was having a good time. I really appreciated how clean and well-kept everything was, from the benches to the rental area. The only downside was that the rental skates were a bit hard to get used to; my daughter struggled a little to find a comfortable pair. However, the staff was accommodating and helped her find a better fit. The best part was definitely the family-friendly vibe—everyone was laughing and enjoying themselves. I can’t recommend this place enough for family outings or just a fun day with friends!

Honestly, I never knew how much fun skating could be until I visited this rink! From the moment I stepped in, I was greeted with smiles from the staff, who were so eager to help with our rental skates. The rink itself was impressive; the ice was smooth, and they clearly take care of it. I went on a Saturday afternoon, and while it was busy, it only added to the vibrant atmosphere. I loved the variety of music playing in the background, which really set the mood. My only small suggestion would be to have a designated area for beginners, as I found it difficult to navigate through the crowds at times. Nevertheless, I had a blast gliding around and even made a few new friends. I’ll definitely be coming back soon, and I encourage anyone looking for a fun outing to check this place out!
